No School on Monday, January 15 in Observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Vel R. Phillips Avenue was super busy this week as construction workers continued to push forward despite the weather. Soon, concrete will be poured for the gymnasium floor and — weather permitting — the roof installation is expected to be completed soon. The $25+ plus high school will be home to up to 500 scholars in Milwaukee’s historic Bronzeville neighborhood.

WELCOME

Senior FAFSA Information Session on January 18

We are excited to extend a special invitation to senior families for a important event at Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy scheduled for Thursday, January 18, from 5 to 7 p.m. This upcoming session is dedicated to providing indispensable information on navigating the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for your scholar.

Understanding the significance of completing the FAFSA is paramount for every senior student. This application, contingent upon parent/guardian income, acts as the gateway to a multitude of federal aid opportunities, encompassing grants, student loans, and work-study programs. To facilitate a seamless journey through this crucial process, our team has orchestrated a comprehensive presentation that demystifies key terms, acronyms, and the essential information required. Rest assured, our dedicated team will be on hand to offer assistance, with conveniently set up computer stations for on-site completion under our guidance.

Details of the Event:

Date: Thursday, January 18
Time: 5 to 7 p.m.
Location: Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy

By participating in this session, you not only guarantee that your scholar seizes the full spectrum of available financial aid opportunities but also gain valuable insights into federal grants, low-interest student loans, and work-study programs. It’s important to note that federal grants, in particular, do not necessitate repayment.
