On December 1, scholars, staff, alumni, construction crews, and supporters braved rain to participate in a topping off ceremony. They all got an opportunity to sign one of the last steel beams that will support our new school building. They then crossed Vel R. Phillips Avenue to witness the beam being lifted and set in place. It was an #amazing day! Thank you to everyone who made this day special!

It’s that time of the year again – HFCA’s annual Alumni Day is just around the corner!
As we mark two decades of excellence, let’s embrace the foundational tradition of Alumni Day. Our college-enrolled, post-college, and alumni return to HFCA to engage with current students, sharing their unique experiences and providing invaluable advice on navigating the challenges of today’s collegiate environment and career paths. It’s a special day that bridges the past and present, fostering a sense of community and shared growth.
We encourage every scholar to attend Alumni Day on December 20. It is an amazing day.
Eighth-grade Lumin Northwest Students Tour HFCA
Scholars at Lumin Northwest engaged in a Shadow Day at HFCA this week. They learned about our school experience from our Student Ambassadors, received a special cheer from our cheerleading squad, went hands on with our Robotics Team, learned about academics, athletics and activities. Then, they received a VIP tour at the construction site our new high school facility the historic Bronzeville neighborhood.
HFCA Board Member Lauren Feaster Connects with Scholars
Scholars earning college credit through Alverno College had an insightful session with the amazing Lauren Feaster. They delved into a unit exploring how personal Identity impacts people in professional settings. Feaster is the owner of Professional Dimensions and we are so proud to have Feaster as an HFCA Board Member.
